Intro

Hello Everyone!

 My name is Maya Carr

I currently teach English as a Second Language to Korean adults online. My work hours are interesting but I enjoy talking with my students and hearing about their busy interesting lives. My students are business professionals that have previously studied English and would like to perfect their skills. The current company I work for works in conjunction with a communication company in Seoul Korea. Previously, I worked as a substitute teacher in the Lansing School District. I had originally decided to substitute teach in order to gain more experience working with youth. At this time, I decided to change my major and pursue a career in education.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University. Interestingly, my degree is in Criminal Justice.

Some of my personal hobbies and interests include Chess, Zumba, Cooking and Creative Writing. I don't watch much television and prefer to keep abreast of current events through the internet and/or newspaper.

I decided to pursue TESOL as my masters because I enjoy teaching online and I have experienced working with ELL students in the classroom and it has been one of my most rewarding experiences with teaching.
